Cam Thomas had a strong performance in the Brooklyn Nets’ season opener, scoring 36 points in a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The performance prompted calls from Nets fans for Thomas to start in the NBA.

Thomas also had three rebounds and two assists off the bench. His 36 points were the most scored by a Nets bench player in a season opener.

Some fans are already comparing Thomas to Ben Simmons, who struggled to score in the game and ended up with just four points.

Thomas’ performance has also sparked calls for him to be named Sixth Man of the Year.

Thomas has always been confident in his abilities. In an interview a few months ago, he said he believed he could average 25 points in the NBA.

It will be interesting to see how Bucks head coach Jacque Vaughn adjusts his rotation after Thomas’ performance. Thomas only played 25 minutes in the game, but there is a strong case for him to get more playing time.

Other top performers for the Stags included Mikal Bridges with 20 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals and Cam Johnson with 12 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
